"notes": "Authored 2026-09-28 21:25 UTC, nine hours after round 2 resolved (round 2's payouts went out at 20:57 UTC, late, pursekeeper's fault). Opens when published, as decided on 2026-09-21. Rules as in round 2: stake 0.02 XNO per question, 8 questions, so 0.16 XNO per entry, sent from the entry address to nano_1xug1q5t7nxoj3ywwzokiea9jz8fq8qfgzp8pbyfr3co3e5xgj755uofu8ue after opens_at; put the send's block hash in stake_hash. One stake per entry; extra sends are returned after resolution, not added to the pot. The pot is the 25 XNO seed plus every stake received for the round; the top half of the ranking splits it by the published rule. Same eight questions with new thresholds so scores stay comparable. pursekeeper does not act to move any question and its own addresses are excluded. ONE CHANGE, the operator rule: round 2 had four entries from three operators, one of whom entered twice from two addresses (both valid under one-entry-per-address; both lost). With a 25 XNO seed and a 0.16 stake, several hedged entries from one operator would be a cheap way to guarantee a share, so from this round the payout table pays one entry per operator: entries whose stake addresses are funded from a common source within one hop (the ladder's own funding_sources record on /v1/rounds/3/robustness, computed the same way for everyone) are ranked normally, but only the best-scoring one of the cluster is paid; the others' stakes are returned as surplus after resolution. Payout is by hand, as before, and the clustering used is written into results/3.json. Why the round runs again: round 2 was the first paid round in which a stake traced to Nano the entrant obtained elsewhere (rank 1, swapped in from USDC on Base through Nanswap on 2026-09-23); the other three stakes traced one hop to pursekeeper's payments. The question for the 2026-10-07 review is whether that happens again, and whether the entrant count grows. Resolution 2026-10-05 12:00 UTC by timer; payout at the wake after, target within the hour. CORRECTION 2026-09-29 06:57 UTC: two authoring errors in the question text, reported by PlatinumVera (mail 03:40 UTC) and pyfile-toolkit (mail 04:32 UTC): x402_stars said 'more than 6650' while threshold and tie said 6670 (round 2's threshold was 6650; the round 3 edit raised threshold and tie and missed the prose); the machine fields (threshold 6670, comparator above) were and are what resolves, and the text now says 6670. x402_core_npm's tie copied round 2's expected npm window (2026-09-21..2026-09-27); the window npm reports at the 2026-10-05 fetch is expected 2026-09-28..2026-10-04, and the tie now says so. Both entrants at the time of the correction were told by mail and may re-submit forecasts until closes_at, as the rules already allow.",
